PLAYING WITH FIRE offers the following instrument combinations:
Solo saxophone
Duo (Clarinet/Sax & Accordion)
Trio (Clarinet/Sax , Accordion & Violin)
Quartet (Clarinet/Sax, keyboards, double bass, drums)
Full Seven Piece Band ( (Clarinet/saxophone, violin, accordion, double bass, drums, trombone, keyboard and singer)
Gypsy & Klezmer Band


The duo and trio work without music. We are well suited to playing outdoors on lawns, around guests having drinks, or playing around guests seated at tables. We usually play without amplification.


They Offer

A varied programme of sunny Mediterranean and African music (French Cafe, Italian Neapolitans, Viennese Waltzes, Rumanian Gypsy, Klezmer etc)
A French Programme
A Jewish/Klezmer programme

MEMBERS:

Matthew Reid has twenty-five years experience of playing the clarinet. Apart from playing music at functions, he is a recitalist of serious music, much of which is often heard on Fine Music Radio. He has recorded a concerto with orchestra by Peter Klatzow on CD, and appeared as a soloist with several of the orchestras in the c ountry. He was winner of the SASOL Music Prize in 1986.He also runs the Simcha Klezmer and Gypsy Band

Stanislav Anguelov comes from Bulgaria and has been the resident accordionist at La Masseria restaurant for many years. He appeared in the Nelson Mandela Aids Awareness Fundraising concert accompanying Bob Geldorf and members of Queen in Greenpoint stadium in 2004. He runs the Cape Tango Quartet and has produced the CD "The Tango in Africa.
