ANJULIE DE VOS
Based in Cape Town
Anjulie de Vos received the degree B.Mus cum laude from the University of Stellenbosch in 2001, and now works as a freelance cellist, playing for various different chamber groups, and working on an ad hoc basis for orchestras as the KZN Philharmonic in Natal and the St. George's in Cape Town. Anjulie is also the cellist/bassist of SA's first Pop Idol, Heinz Winkler's band. More

ARIELLA CARIA
Based in Cape Town
Ariella Caira, a former student of the distinguished cellist Anmari van der Westhuizen, is currently a 3rd year Theatre and Performance student at the Universtiy of Cape Town. Ariella, cellist of the popular all-female ACE Quartet, has been playing music since the age of 5, and over the years has played in several orchestras and ensembles, including the National Youth Orchestra, participated in many eisteddfods and won numerous awards and trophies. CAROL THORNS (electric cello)
Based in Cape Town
One of South Africa’s leading electric cellists, Carol has performed at the country’s top events for nearly a decade. These include numerous celebrity events (Elton John Charity Ball), Fashion shows (Cape Town Fashion Week, Durban Fashion Week, SA Fashion Week), big concerts (Kirstenbosch Summer Concert Series, Vodacom July, Presidents Cup, Fancourt Spring Ball) etc. Carol has been featured alongside electric violinist Elena Zlatkova on several occasions with the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and the Johannesburg Philharmonic. CHERYL DE HAVILLAND
Based in Cape Town
Cheryl de Havilland was born in London and started the cello at the age of 8. At ll she won a bursary to study music at the Royal College of Music.
She came to South Africa for the Inauguration of the Pretoria State Opera House and to Cape Town later in the same year as Co-Principal Cellist with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra. She later moved to the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra where she played for 10 years. MORE |
