ANJULIE DE VOS, CELLIST / BASSIST

Anjulie de Vos is a classically trained cellist and received her B.Mus - degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2001. She completed her studies under Magdalena Roux (University of Stellenbosch), Anmari van der Westhuizen (University of Stellenbosch) and Andreas Pozlberger (Bruckner Konservatorium Linz, Austria).

While still studying she performed regularly with the Cape Town Philhamonic Orchestra, Kwazulu Natal Philharmonic and St George's Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed and recorded with famous artists such as Stef Bos, Koos Kombuis, Valiant Swart, Louis Mahlanga, Heinz Winkler and the Springbok Nudegirls. Today Anjulie performs on a regular basis and teaches music at Somerset College and privately.

Anjulie was also one of the founding members of the popular cosmopolitan quintet, Zamar, in which she played cello and stick bass up to December 2006. She also composed many of the songs played and sung by Zamar. Anjulie now works as freelance cellist / bassist.
