BALKANTU
Based in Cape Town
Balkantu’s music is a creative blend of Balkan/Gypsy- and light Classical styles that appeal to a wide range of audiences.  Their name adequately refers to the Italian words “bella canto” which means “beautiful song”.  This Stellenbosch based group showcases flashy ‘fiddling’, versatile piano expertise and impressive ensemble playing in a great variety of humm-able, toe-tapping tunes.  They skillfully revive popular classics and well-known gypsy songs with playful improvisation while maintaining the integrity and quality of the music. CAMERATA TINTA BAROCCA
Based in Cape Town
Camerata Tinta Barocca, founded by Quentin Crida in July 2004, is a baroque ensemble of string players with harpsichord. (The name is derived from the musicians' passion for baroque music and red wine...) CTB's members include some of Cape Town's finest musicians. Our concerts have met with critical acclaim in the Cape Times and Die Burger, and have been broadcast on Fine Music Radio. We perform monthly at St George's Cathedral, Cape Town. MORE

EGOLI SALON ORCHESTRA
Based in Johannesburg
The Egoli Salon Orchestra originated during April 2007 performing at the newly built Piazza at the Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg. Preparing for these performances the musicians rediscovered music from an almost forgotten era. Everyone involved felt  that this type of music should be promoted as much as possible.  "Rediscovering" the historic role Salon music played in Johannesburg around late 1800 was very inspiring.
