riaan eloff

Riaan Eloff started playing piano at age eight. Born into a musically gifted family, his mother plays several instruments, his father guitar and trumpet and both his sisters play instruments and all sing to some extent. His formal education in piano and theory culminated in a Grade 8 qualification at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 1987.

Riaan started playing on stage at about age 14, and has been doing so ever since at churches, restaurants, weddings, corporate events and the like.  He has played on somewhere between 30 and 40 CD albums, and various other music productions. He also dabbles in producing and engineering at his own studio and is active in a number of other business projects.

Although he has excelled in many areas of life and music, his heart has always been that of a pianist.  When he sits down behind a piano to play, he is comfortable, at home, at peace, and in his element.   Performing on the piano gives him a feeling of presenting something enjoyable to the listener and it draws him into his own world of creation, interpretation and expression.
