NOKUZOLA KWELILANGA

Based in Cape Town

Nokuzola discovered her passion for singing at a young age when she began singing at school and at church, where she was often chosen to perform as a lead soloist for various music events. Nokuzola then performed with Cape Town Opera as a chorus member, but her first leading role was in the operetta, By The River performed at the Artscape Theatre. The theatre recognized her talent and granted her with a bursary study at the South African College of Music where she completed her Performers Diploma in Opera.

• Cosi fan Tutte (Mozart) as Fiordiligi 
• Il Trovatore (Verdi) as Leonora
• Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man (from Showboat)
• Summertime (Gershwein) from Porgy and Bess
• Amigos Para Siempre by Andrew Lloyd Webber
• You Raise Me Up by Vicky Sampson.

The above performances were held at the Baxter, Arts Cape and the Spier Theatre.

Nokuzola Kwelilanga has performed with the renowned Bala brothers in Kaapse Klopse at the Bellville Stadium, as well as Sibongile Mngoma at Artscape and Sibongile Khumalo at the Cape Town Waterfront as a back up artist.  Nokuzola most recently performed at the Anaesthelogists Conference at the CTICC.

Nokuzola Kwelilanga also performs regularly at weddings and with a vocal group where she is the musical director.
