PIETER TREDOUX , BARITONE / BASS

Pieter Tredoux, a student of the highly acclaimed opera star, Nellie du Toit, is a charming and popular baritone specializing in lighter genres. These include French cabaret like Piaf and Brel; Golden Oldies (music from the 1920’s – 1970’s) and popular numbers from musicals and films. For the most part of 2004 he sang the role of Monsieur Andre in the South African production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's world-famous musical "The Phantom of the Opera".

Pieter obtained his BA (with Music) degree from the University of Stellenbosch where he specialised in solo singing. He won numerous awards and bursaries and also performed the title role in the Puccini opera, Gianni Schicchi, under the direction of award winning Christine Crouse. He was recently awarded a special prize for his performance during the Mimi Coertze Masterclasses and Concert in Stellenbosch.

Pieter performs regularly at various functions, weddings and soirees, at venues ranging from intimate lounge settings to concert stages. His connection with the fashion, advertising and TV industries (Pieter is also an active model and actor) makes him a perfect choice if you need an entertaining performance with the image to fit!

We have used Pieter Tredoux for two functions and can only but recommend him. On the first occasion, Pieter performed at a private garden party (70th birthday celebration).  He was asked to perform as an incognito artist i.e. blending with the crowd and providing a surprise element.  He was absolutely charming, professional and read the crowd exceptionally well.  His warm infectious personality and fabulous voice had every women swooning. Pieter then performed for us at a more formal dinner function and again his professionalism and great charisma was noted. The audience was more corporate and predominantly male but Pieter and his partner again won the audience over.  He gives 110%.
