JIMMIE EARL PERRY, an internationally renowned American performer in musical theatre, film, tv and recordings, recently released his self produced debut album in South Africa, 'Power of the Dream "  distributed by Gallo South Africa. Mr. Perry has had a successful and stunning career since leaving Westminster Choir College in Princeton New Jersey, a prestigious and well known music university.  Performing lead roles in productions in New York, Canada, Australia and Europe in such shows as Miss Saigon, Dreamgirls, Cats, Starlight Express and Jesus Christ Superstar.  Currently producing HIV/AIDS Educational Theatre for the Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management at Stellenbosch University, Mr. Perry has fused both his artistry as a gifted performer and training others to use theatre, music and dance as a tool to educate the public about AIDS to reduce and prevent new infections around the world.

Mr. Perry has a powerful baritone and gospel filled voice that enhances his dynamic stage persona.  Performing with full orchestra or rhythm section, his performances prove his long professional experience and showmanship. The Cape Philharmonic and the Mike Campbell Orchestra have both accompanied him for the annual World Aids Day Gala Concert in Cape Town since 2005. All of the songs on this album including, Burt Bacharachs "What the World Needs Now" or John Lennon's "Imagine" or his self penned "Destination Africa" as well as the r&b ballad "Try a Little Tenderness", are becoming a favorite among South Africa's radio stations. They are all songs that give tribute to and celebrate lives in the face of adversity.
