NOMFUSI has shared the stage with some of the biggest local and international names in the entertainment world, including Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo and Bebe Wynans. She has a growing demand internationally as a head line act for festivals in Europe and Canada: in 2010 she will be performing at the legendary Montreal Jazz Festival, with two more festival performances in Canada as well as shows in France and Norway. Locally she has shared the stage with Judith Sephuma at the Spier Symphonic Pops, performing with a 50-piece orchestra. Other appearances include the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2009 and the opening of Parliament 2007 and 2009 (see full profile).
Her corporate clients include The Loerie Awards, The One & Only (opening of their Waterfront resort, attended by a host of Hollywood Stars), ABSA Capital and The Nederburg Art Auction.
Her music can be described as a unique and exciting blend of Sophiatown, African gospel, R&B and Motown. There is the spirit of Miriam Makeba, the vocal power of Tina Turner and the wildness of Brenda Fassie.
Nomfusi is loved in the media: even before the release of her first album, she was featured extensively on television, including Top Billing (three appearances), ETV Showbiz Report, Artcha, Morning Live (two appearances) and a striking documentary about her life was made for SABC3’s The Power Within. Her photogenic features have graced the covers of various magazines, and articles accompanied by glamorous photo shoots have been commissioned by Sawubona, Marie Claire, Destiny Magazine and O Brigado.
